The eVNC, or embedded Virtual Network Computing, is a free software package derived from the popular VNC software which attempts to take into account the special needs of the embedded community.  As with VNC, eVNC allows you to interact with a desktop/application running on a remote machine.  There are many reasons to use VNC such as:

  • It’s free, GPL-licensed, with full source code available;
  • It’s useful in remote administration, remote customer support, education, and for many other purposes;
  • It provides cross-platform compatability;
  • It’s well maintained.

In addition to the above benefits, eVNC also provides these added benefits for embedded displays:

  • Provides a firewall for your local display environment;
  • Addresses colour sharing issues;
  • Addresses performance issues;
